How has Science and Technology changed over the years (From Ancient Technology to our current Innovations)?
Ancient Science and technologies are very different from modern sciences technologies. The Pueblos and the Mayas were ancient american civilizations which invented things such as the ball field and mud-like mortar. Also around this time were ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Rome, Greece, and Mesopotamia. Some bigger things these civilizations invented were the calendar medicines cosmetics, astronomy, highways, surgical tools, highways and newspaper. Years later the renaissance occurred causing the scientific revolution. During this period of time many scientists came out and many new ideas were brought to life. Some major scientists of this time include Francis Bacon, Scientific method, Nicholas Copernicus, heliocentric theory, and Galileo Galilei, telescope and heliocentric theory. Shortly after the scientific method came the Industrial Revolution. The industrial revolution was a time when agriculture turned to industry. Thomas Edison created the light bulb, which now made working at night possible. This helped factories produce goods 24/7. Henry Ford created the first car and the assembly line. The Assembly line was a huge success because the production of products was much faster and cheaper. The Wright brothers created the first plane in this revolution. People were both scared and stunned by this. When people ran out of wood to burn in their engines they had to come up with a new way to burn stuff. They founded coal and made the steam engine, coal burned for 10x as long as wood. Also during this time period some major labor saving devices were invented, the washing machine, which went from days of cleaning to hours, refrigerator, which made it able to keep foods fresh for longer and the vacuum clean. As all these new technologies and factories are being improved there is a race between Soviet Union and the United States. This race is to see who can go the furthest and do the most in space. Even though all of these inventions are very advanced there is one in this day and age that will always be more advanced than anything else, the internet. You can access the internet from anywhere. You can look up anything you want, you can talk to anyone you want and you can post anything you want. Once its on the internet its there to stay.

Ancient Science & Tech in Egypt, Rome, Greece, Mesopotamia- Ancient science and technologies were used to make the little things in life easier. This picture shows the ancient Greek tunnel they built through a mountain to transport water.
Civilizations of the Americas- The ancient civilizations of america included the Mayas Pueblo and the Aztecs. Here is a picture of where these and other civilizations lived.
The Scientific Revolution- The Scientific Revolution was a time when new ideas came together to form new inventions and theories. Here are a few major people and their inventions
Heliocentric/ Geocentric Theory- Heliocentric was the idea that the sun was at the center of the universe. The Geocentric was the idea that the Earth was at the center of the universe. Here are examples of them both.
Francis Bacon- Francis Bacon was a big Philosopher of Science. He was credited for the formation of the Scientific Method. To the left is a little bit more about him.
Nicholas Copernicus- Nicholas Copernicus was credited for coming up with the theory that the sun was at the center of the universe, known as the Heliocentric Theory. To the left is a picture of him.
Galileo Galilei- Galileo Galilei perfected and published the idea that the sun was at the center of the universe, Heliocentric Theory. He also improved the telescope and discovered Jupiter's 4 largest moons. Here is a picture of Galileo using his telescope.
The Renaissance- The renaissance was cultural rebirth. To the left is a picture of Mona Lisa which was painted shortly after this rebirth.
The Scientific Method- The Scientific Method was a method used to prove theories or modify them.
The Industrial Revolution- The industrial Revolution was the transfer from agriculture to industries. Factories and machines were now invented and used for production. Here is a picture of one of the first factories.
Thomas Edison- Thomas Edison was credited for inventing the light bulb, motion pictures, and phonograph which recorded sound. Here is a picture of Edison and his light bulb.
Henry Ford- Henry Ford was credited for finding Ford industries. He invented the first assembly line and the first car, Model T Ford. Here is Henry and his Model T Ford.
Wright Brothers- The Wright Bothers invented the first airplane. To the left is a picture of the 2 brothers and their airplane.
Factors of Production- One factor of production was Henry Ford's assembly line. This was a big deal because it sped up production by hours and made the product much cheaper.
Factories- Factories became huge in the industrial revolution. It made for more jobs and better products. Here is a picture of a big factory in this time.
Coal & the steam engine- The steam engine was used in factories and was powered by coal. This is a picture of one of first steam engines.
Labor Saving Devices- Labor Saving devices were devices that helped simple chores that took forever take much less time. For Example the washing machine, before it took about 2 days to do one load now with the washing machine it only took a few hours. Here is one of the first washing machines and a modern washing machine.
The Space Race- The Space Race was a huge race between the Soviet Union and the United States to see who could do the most in space first. This is a picture of the Sputnik 1 which the Soviet sent into space.
The Internet- The internet is used worldwide for socializing, searching, blogging, projects, etc.
