What are the "Social Studies" and how do the "Social Studies" relate to our study of World History?
When you think of the category Social Studies you probably think of it just as the study of society which in a way it is but it also has many other factors. The Social Studies includes; history, geography, sociology, international relationships, linguistics, psychology, archaeology, anthropology and politics. Each of these is related to world history in a specific way. We study history because we see what past events have happened, good and bad. Geography we study to know where these events happened in the world. We study sociology and psychology so we can thoroughly understand how people interact with each other and why they interact they way they do now and how they did then. Linguistics is important to learn about because you need to understand that people have changed languages so many times since cavemen and nomads. Anthropology helps us to understand how we have physically changed over they years and we know this because archaeologists find bones and such which help us prove how we have changed. Politics helps us to understand why some countries aren't on good terms. Down below have have definitions and examples of these things.
